i got a camera.

wasnt quite what i expected:

turns out, this model is better anyway.


i walked into JB HiFi and straight away headed to the camera zone with my grandad. i told him which one, and he weaved some magic. by the end we had gotten the price down from the already discounted $1,480, to $1,200 plus a $125 li-ion battery.

i am stoked.

and i cant wait to film some surfing!

Hot summer nights, flat spells and SSW Swells. This year we had a good run but now i think it has finally come to an end. oh well, atleast we have got april to look forward to.

in the mean time, over 50 fires are raging in N.S.W. at the moment and 35 in Victoria with the death toll standing well over 100, and over 800 houses destroyed. so do the aussie thing and donate some money to the red cross, even if its only 5 dollars im sure some kid would benefit with a new shirt or some band-aids or something.

im going to Perth this weekend with a few mates where i will pick up my brand new camera.

February 2nd:

its a bad thing for kids across the region but from what i have heard, it is a relief to others, i.e. grown-up surfers and bodyboarders, because now the crowd will probably halve, and when they head to the beach after a big night out, the water will be much more peaceful.

recently a couple of anonymous people bagged me because i reported that in the last week or two i had been hanging around some big wigs. ive just got one thing to say to them.

what i write on this blog are simply my opinions and if you dont like what i write then simply dont read it. and YES i dont have a camera, but only because it got stolen and the best job i can get is 4 hours a week at $9 an hour.

so congratulations, you made your point clear, and i hope you feel good about yourself(ves)

im not gonna get that camera anymore as it records in NTSC format (american) and not PAL (australian & european). luckily i asked for the advise of Teeth (a.k.a West) otherwise $2700 would have gone down the gurglar.

in other news, yesterday morning ben took me to box with thorpe and ryan, which was roughly 3-4 ft. and clean. In the afternoon tom p, tom h, duke h, zach x and i surfed it again, which was fun until i got a killer headache, had to paddle in, then crawl to the carpark as by this point i was overwhelmed by exhaustion and all that only to vomit all over the carpark verandah/toilets.

im alright now (next day) but i am very hungry and very weak. you probably all know the feeling of spewing whenever you try to eat.

i found another video camera on offer for $2700 with a housing. im stoked because for once there is a camera for sale with a price tag i can afford instantly. now its just a question of whether or not it's right for me. i think it is but only time will tell.

in the mean time; i ordered a new bodyboard from elit' yesterday which im expecting in no more then 2 weeks, yesterday morning i surfed 4-5ft box with tom, james and a few french guys and tomorrow i am catching up with an old friend who is down for 2 weeks.

ill keep you posted on the new camera,

ive been hanging around with Ryan Softy lately and it has been a real pleasure. just hanging out, surfing in the mornings, coffee in the arvos, but sadly he has to go back to perth today.
